The "younger generation" again not the song which I remember but the younger generation of today what a difference from when I was classed as a part of that. The younger generation of today is totally different for instance if they have an argument with someone in school it's not just a good old fist fight now it's knifes and guns perhaps not going home with just a black eye but maybe not going home at all or worst of all in a coffin. If they have homework in my days when I couldn't do one of the assignments I'd ask my mam or dad to help me but nowadays there's no need for that the younger generation just use their mobiles and ask a friend or even get them to text the answer to them, homework done, is that cheating or is that the way learning is today. If we of the older generation wanted something for Christmas it was most probably a bycycle, scooter or a special toy but nowadays it's the best mobile, electric romobile, computer to play games on the tv like PlayStation (every year a new one) not a nice pair of jeans but ones that have holes in them, what's the world coming to. When we went out with our friends we had an apple or orange for energy but now it's all in a can, vitamins as well everything that they need they can buy and who has to pay for it the parents, when I was younger I had a paper round where I got up early before school and dilivered papers door to door for extra pocket money but that's a thing of the past, no more, just ask the parents for money as if they were the local bank, now the parents have to work hard to pay bills and put food on the table without being asked all the time for money so that the younger generation can go out and enjoy themselves. The music's different, now you can hardly understand the words let alone remember them. I still remember songs from the 60's, 70's and 80's and can still sing along with them in my head not out loud because I can't sing, the programs on the tv are different all it is now is reality shows and the such like not good old fashioned comedy series or series about real life but made for tv, no more getting married just living together with the help of their parents to find a flat, the worst things we did was perhaps drinking underage or smoking a cigarette if you had enough money but now it's drugs that you can buy almost anywhere, I really can't get on with this new generation and I miss the time when I was younger and had proper friends who I could talk to face to face with not on a mobile, perhaps I'm just an old fuddy duddy(strange word) but one that explains what I and so many other parents feel like. What do you think am I right or wrong, comment if you agree or disagree and don't forget to share if like reading my little blog, thank you.
The remains of the unit that were in this position left and we followed them, we went around the outskirts of the village and back into the center. The rest of PIV or what was left of it were already there, we found out that Colin just after he had reached the main hq in the center of the village. We had to go back to the end of the street to see what was happening but as soon as we arrived we came under heavy fire as the enemy had pinpointed this house as our new front line, there was no way that we could reach Eric without getting everyone who attempted a rescue killed and because of the amount of enemy fire we had to fall back, on the way Alan started going berserk saying that he had to go back to fight, he was shooting everywhere so George calmed him down and asked him to take care of the elderly and that seemed to work. By now the village command had decided it was time to leave but first we had to wait for the mortar unit to reach safety. We could not get anywhere near under cons...
