Why well a couple of reasons, conflicting reviews of the opening ceremony of the Olympics is one, there were some people who didn't enjoy the carrying of the country's flags up the Seine because of it’s Lgb theme or to some thats what it looked like but to me it was all part of the idea for the opening ceremony, well planned and exacuted, it was all part of the show, for myself it was well choreographed, great music, lights and fantastic lighting of the Olympic flame, all in all I trurly enjoyed it. Of course there were some who didn't enjoy it but that's their right as a human being in a free country where there are no restrictions and you live your life as you feel fit. Well let's change the subject to Ukraine who it seems as is the case every day for the last couple of weeks losing ground to the hoard but yesterday was a bit different. There are conflicting reports of a Russian general being captured by Ukrainian special forces as he was visiting the front line, he was whisked away back to Ukraine and then interrogated and apparently gave info into Putins plans for the future including the possibility of attacking Poland, now there's something new but that wouldn't surprise me coming from a demented person who as I've said before has one goal in his mind and really what the end game is only he knows. The general also aparantly gave away Russian positions where they were weakest so maybe if all that is true then now I hope Ukraine will use the info and attack those positions and get some of their land back, Ukraine also attacked a helicopter factory inside Russia destroying a few helicopters and the factory itself, nice one, also a strategic bomber was destroyed, wow, there were also attacks on oil refinaries and various military targets therefore causing the resupply of ammunition and men to the front much more difficult, although they lost land it was a good day for Ukraine so now I hope that a new push will begin to hurt and get rid of the occupyers, we'll see. Today is a lovely 16 but set to rise to 37 degrees, back to the heatwave, at least there's something on the telly to watch, of course I mean the Olympics. Yesterday my eldest daughters fiance cooked a late BBQ so I was a little late getting up for a change. Our guests will depart today and our house will return to normal, my wife and eldest daughter won't be too happy but all good things must come to an end. Well that's all for today with this late blog so if you enjoyed it then like, follow and share. Thank you.
The remains of the unit that were in this position left and we followed them, we went around the outskirts of the village and back into the center. The rest of PIV or what was left of it were already there, we found out that Colin just after he had reached the main hq in the center of the village. We had to go back to the end of the street to see what was happening but as soon as we arrived we came under heavy fire as the enemy had pinpointed this house as our new front line, there was no way that we could reach Eric without getting everyone who attempted a rescue killed and because of the amount of enemy fire we had to fall back, on the way Alan started going berserk saying that he had to go back to fight, he was shooting everywhere so George calmed him down and asked him to take care of the elderly and that seemed to work. By now the village command had decided it was time to leave but first we had to wait for the mortar unit to reach safety. We could not get anywhere near under cons...
