Magic

Well for you and a lot of other people and especially children it means someone on tv or on stage performing magic acts which leave you wondering how they did it, but for me after the last week it means something else. It all started when I won a fair amount of euros on a online casino app, so I began by paying off bills so that I don't get reminders through the post, that was great so when I saw I had money left I wondered what else I should do with the money, buying a few things for the house, a new lawn mower, having enough money to give the children some for Easter, paying for my wife and daughter to have their nails done as they do every month but this month it didn't come out of their purse which made things a lot easier for them. So I had used up quite a bit of my winnings and I started thinking what I should do now so I put enough money aside to pay for pizza when the whole family was together, so what now I thought about the most important person in my life which is my wife, I asked my son what would be a nice surprise for her and he replied that I should take her out for a meal so I waited for her to come home from work and I asked her if she would like to go to a restaurant, just the two of us and she said that she would rather have a ring instead so as I had enough money left I said ok then you can have both, the smile on her face was magic. A few days later we went shopping after me telling her don't worry about how much it costs and after looking around the jewelry shops she eventually chose one that she really liked so I paid for it and after having a coffee we went back to the car and she gave me a kiss and a hug and said thank you, now that's magic. We decided on where and when we would go to a restaurant, so we decided on Saturday after work so now there was just the waiting and it made me feel younger again as though we had just got engaged, a ring and a special meal just us without any hassle or worry about money and a few hours without having to worry about anything. The time came for us to get ready, so I put on a pair of trousers not trainers, shoes so that that would make her happy she of course dressed up and after taking a few pictures we set off. We arrived at the restaurant and had a cup of coffee and an aperative before we went to our table. The waitress showed us to our table, gave us the menus and we had something to drink while deciding what we were going to eat, we ordered and after a while our order arrived, enough to feed three or four people but we ate our fill and what was left we took home with us, ali through the meal my wife was taking photos of what we were eating, then the waitress came back and asked if we wanted desert, there was no way I could eat dessert as well but my wife ordered pancakes with nuts, chocolate and ice cream, it was hard going for her to eat it all but she said that she wasn't going to waste any and in the end we had finished, full stomachs and a smile on her face, we had another cup of coffee and waited for the bill, paid and left. As we were drinking she told me that this was the first time we had been out for a meal together since our honeymoon which surprised me but she always remembered that sort of thing but I knew that she was happy, now after writing about it I have to say that those two things meant a lot to her and that for me was pure Magic but magic like that doesn't happen every day it's a memory that will last but when it does it is really worth while just seeing the smile on your partners face, puer, pure Magic.

My Book

As I promised I'm now going to start to write my book on my blog some names and places have been changed but everything is true perhaps the tense is misleading but I wrote this book in the 90's and starts off in 1991. "Soldier of Fortune Or Soldier of Love" Chapter 1 Once upon a time, those would be great words to start a fairy tale but this is no fairy tale. This is a factual account of one man's struggle to help others less fortunate than himself, it is a story about myself, an ordinary man, the only thing that separates me from others is that I am an idealist, an idealist that not only talks about things but acts on them. My parents are also idealists,my father Richard believes in raising money for certain causes, my mother Margie believes in helping the aged and helping children in Ethiopia, these are their ideals and they try to live up to them, so why should I not be allowed to live up to them. My name is C.S.Hollaway and up until one year ago I lived in a s...

First installment

As I walked towards one of the men whose hair was as short as mine he looked like any British soldier who wore the same uniform as I had in my bergan, "anyone here speak English" I asked, "sure mate, what do you want?" was the reply, I almost had a heart attack, the first person I spoke to was from Liverpool, this was an unexpected coincidence and perhaps now I was getting somewhere.  "where are you from and what do you want" he asked, "Wales and I want to join the Croatian army" I replied he turned around to someone, I didn't catch his name but then he turned back to me,  "the person who is in charge is not here but will be back at about one in the afternoon" he told me, "thanks, I'll come back" and walked off, What was I going to do now I didn't know so I left and headed left not going anywhere special just walking and looking around, behaving as any tourist would there were loads of palm trees so it must be a wa...
