Reverse

To start this story we visit a normal family home where the husband has a good job and the wife looks after the house. It's early in the morning, time to get up, first the wife as she has to light the fire before everyone gets up and make lunch for the husband to take to work, then the alarm goes off and the husband gets up and comes downstairs to have his morning coffee before going off to work, he drinks it, picks up his lunch and then goes off to work. Now it's time for the wife to sit down in peace and quiet and drink her cup of coffee while she thinks what she has to do during the day. Now she knows she starts her job while her husband is doing his job, first the washing, put it on the clothes horse and because it's a nice day puts it out to dry, while she's outside she prepares wood for the following day and leaves it outside, back inside prepare dinner and then throws the rubbish away, right now it's time to do the wash the dishes from the day before once that's done she let's them dry a little while she brushes the floor and make sure that the fire is still going then she has sits down and relaxes for a few minutes as she thinks she deserves it. Now it's time to get dinner ready for when her husband comes home from work, it's all ready but no sign of her husband and she's getting hungry so she decides to eat alone as she can't wait any longer she finishes and washes the dishes while waiting for her husband, he eventually arrives and she asks where has he been, he answers that he stopped for a coffee on the way home with a workmate, she's not very happy and tells him his dinner is in the oven, so he gets it out, sits down and eats, after finishing he leaves the empty dishes on the table and turns the tv on, sits on the sofa starts to watch and then falls asleep, after waking he says that he has to go to have a haircut so off he goes. While he's gone she sits down for a well earned rest, after some time he returns, takes a shower and then goes to bed, she sits down in peace and watches the tv for a while until it's time to go to bed because tomorrow it's the same thing again and it's just the same every day while the husband is in work. Now what if the situation is reversed, the husband takes retirement and luckily enough the wife finds a job at the local supermarket, so now the husband has to take on the role of wife and the wife takes on the role of husband. The first day and it's the husband who has to get up first as he knows what to do first, light the fire, ok that's done, what does my wife do next he thinks to himself, make coffee for himself and his wife, she comes down when her alarm goes off on her mobile, she sits down and drinks and the husband asks what's for dinner and she replies be creative, she then gets into the car and leaves for her new job and the husband sits down and looks around at what he's got to do, after a while he realises what's got to be done so he starts, almost exactly the same as what his wife did when he was in work the only difference is that he has to do it instead of his wife. The washed clothes, the wood, the dishes, preparing dinner, sweeping the floor, drying the dishes, throwing the rubbish out, sitting down for a cup of coffee and then cooking dinner but when it's ready there's no sign of his wife so now he eats alone and washes the dishes after himself and waits for his wife to return, when she does she says that she had to talk to her boss about wages etc, that's why she was late and then says she's going to go and get her nails done so after her dinner she leaves again, when she returns she says she is going for a walk with a friend from work and off she goes the husband has had enough for one day and decides to go to bed not waiting for her to return, he is totally shattered and just wants to have a lay down and relax after the first day of his new job, now that's what I call reversed, who is who now, the man of the house should be the stronger and the woman the weaker but now everything is different, everybody laughs when they see him putting the washing out and chopping wood, so now he feels exactly like his wife who is in work, now that's a life changer, a complete reversal of job's and a complete reversal of the saying a woman's place is at home, doesn't it make you think but it has happened in many homes so it's not uncommon but different, what do you think?
