The World

What is happening to our world, climate change, wars everywhere and idiotic polaticions running countries. As I said in my book it's the people in this world that really matter but what difference does that make when no one takes any notice. Every country in the world has elections where the people are allowed to vote, they vote for a man or woman who did and gave the best pre-election campaign, what good is that when and if they are elected they don't do what they said they were going to do, all they do is get a fantastic wage without actually doing anything just sitting in their new offices and pretending to be doing something, wouldn't it be great if they actually did something like they promised. The same goes for climate change the people that have influence in this world say that they are going to do something about it but they don't and what do we get, more and more changes in our weather, flooding, fires, sun when there should be snow, sea leval rising and the artic circle melting, it probably won't matter to the older generation but it will to future generations. Why don't they do what they promised at all the conferences they go to, I'll tell you why, money, there will always be someone in the background complaining that it will hurt their business and lead to higher unemployment or giving a bribe to someone who has the vote, I suppose that I as an ordinary person don't understand, all I understand is what I see on the tv or what I read, what is the real truth that is all I ask for, is that too much to be told the truth.
The same goes for wars, there's always someone who wants more financially and personally and what happens they start a war to get what they want. What happens, more dead, wounded and financially desperate people but what difference does that make when the people that started the war get what they wanted then after a while someone else decides enough is enough so it starts all over again.
Why can't we all live in peace and harmony and be satisfied with what we have, our family, enough money to survive and most of all love for one another. People in power get your heads together and do something about it before it really ends up when our world gets out of control and we end up with another catastrophic war and what will be left, nothing, just the people who have money and somewhere safe, they don't care about the ordinary person and until they do there will never be normality, we'll that's all I have to say today I wonder if you agree with me or not?

Ninth installment

The remains of the unit that were in this position left and we followed them, we went around the outskirts of the village and back into the center. The rest of PIV or what was left of it were already there, we found out that Colin just after he had reached the main hq in the center of the village. Third installment

Day in, day out, it was the same routine, sleep, guard, fire off a few rounds in the general direction of the enemy, there was not much else to do, the main thing was to stay alive by keeping inside every time mortars or artillery came flying in to the village. The only time that there was a lot of activitie was when we were buzzed by planes, everybody would rush outside, Ernie would jump on the transporter and fire the machine gun, I used to run to the machine gun that was mounted on a tripod at the end of the street and also fire at the plane, everybody else would be outside firing their ak47s, there was not much chance of hitting it or bringing it down but it took only one lucky shot and that would give everyone hope. After the plane had gone out of sight that the transporter was Ernies because he had shot at the enemy leaving the damaged transporter with a sniper rifle, so Geordi the commander in charge of the defense of Osijek had given it to Ernie, I also found out that he worked...

Second installment

The word money has a way of working it's way into every aspect of life and my little crusade was not exempt, how much did I need to get to Croatia, how much did I need to survive on the way, it all had to be taken into account and most where and how I was going to get the money from that I needed. By inquiring at travel agents I found out that I could fly but only as far as Austria, Italy or Hungary but the price was much too expensive for me. Taking the train to any of these countries was also far too expensive, the cheapest way was by bus but the only problem was that it took so long to reach your destination. The bus that I wanted to take went from London and it's destination was Athens in Greece, it normally went through Yugoslavia but because of the war it was not going through Budapest then down into Belgrade before going onto Greece.
