The end.

The end, it's probably not what you're thinking but it could be, I'm thinking about the end of the football season, what will all those die hard fans all over Europe do now when they haven't got their favorite team to support either at the stadium with a few friends and a few drinks or watching on telly tough question don't you think? No more excuses on a Saturday or Sunday not to be with their family, no more excuses not to do something around the house which their wives do while they are watching the game, desperation. Now they have to do something in the garden if the weather is nice,mow the grass and get rid of the weeds, wash the car, go shopping with the wife, try to fix anything that needs fixing, it's a terrible thing not having an excuse on Saturday, all they can think about is how much longer until the season starts again, I feel sorry for all those fans who are left in that position but until the first game of the new season then they will have to experience what their family does when they're not at home, what a change. Never mind there's bound to be some other sport on telly that's worth watching so at least they have an excuse to watch something or they could say that they're off to the local cafe or pub for a drink with their friends which probably upsets the wife but she understands as she is used to it, not having her husband around on a Saturday. Another meaning to the end could be the end of Ukraine who has sought independence for so long and now because of the West not providing them with what they needed not so long ago they might be seeing the end coming as Putins hoards are rolling their way over Ukrainian soil and their chance of democracy is all but gone. They will of course still try to stop the Russians but the chance of that happening are reducing by the day, just more dead or injured, more families torn apart, more villages levaled to the ground, the only way to stop Putin is to shoot him or for the West to send troops to Ukraine to help but with Putins frame of mind then that could really be the end. The end of the growing season for farmers, the end of the week,month or year, everything has an end even life itself. What I wrote about are only two examples of the end, one with a happy end in the future and the other with a desasterous end in the future, of course there are loads of other things that come to an end but these two jump out at me and that's why I wrote about them. Well at long last it seems that there may be a break in our heatwave, last night after the temperature hitting a huge 40 degrees it started to thunder and lightning but did the heavens open for rain to fall, no only a few spots, I could probably drink more water than fell from the sky, at least it's a little cooler 19 and set to rise to a reasonable 35 degrees which is a bit more bearable. It's Sunday the end of the weekend and again it seems that my wife and I will be on our own, my youngest daughter and her fiance are going here and there to visit his family and I'm not sure if my eldest daughter will be here so it's going to be a weird Sunday but peaceful. Terrible

Isn't it just terrible to see once again ordinary people being targeted by bombs and mortars and being once again driven from their homes. The orders obviously coming from the top which of course means non other than the war monger himself, Putin and the Ukrainians can't do a thing to stop it except helping with the evacuation of the elderly and sick from the border towns with Russia. It is a familiar site for me after witnessing it myself here in Croatia in 1991, so I know how those people feel being driven from their homes and normal lives not knowing wheater they will return or not by a superior force intent on carrying out their orders by a lunatic dictator. Here in Croatia after so many years people are back in their homes, rebuilt and the villages, towns and cities are back to normal, Croatia has come back from the brink of destruction to become a stronger and better country, all because of the heart and will of the people.
