Well I thought that from June on it was supposed to be sun, sun, sun and more sun but it's where are my wellies time for the last few days all we've had is rain. The river Drava which is the heart of Osijek is starting to overflow to where people used to walk and sit fishing, the main reason apart from the rain which is a contributing factor is water coming from other countries and filling our river to overflowing. It's funny how everyone is down in the dumps because of the constant rain and everyone longs for the sunny days to return especially me and the dogs, its hard for them to have a poo when it's tipping down all they want to do is sleep like as though they were hibernateing. It makes you feel as if you're in some other country which has rain almost all the time not in supposedly sunny Croatia, not good for the tourists who come to Croatia for its beauty and climate, sorry guys, ha, ha, better luck next year. What do people actually do when it rains constantly apart from twiddle their thumbs, an interesting question, watch telly, nothing but rubbish on, play games on the computer, bad for your eyes and backside, housework, what's the point of that when it will just get dirty again because of the rain, it's boring not having anything to do. Never mind perhaps in a few days the sun will show it's warm face again and everyone will be in better spirits hopefully I write. Well I assume that there are some people happy like farmers who don't have to constantly water their crops, fish who are always wet, ducks and swans and other birds that like the rain, the terror of everyone who has a garden weeds and grass, now they can enjoy themselves before being pulled out of the ground or the mower chops their heads off, for us when it's raining at least we don't have to do those jobs, yippee. The tempature has dropped significantly and it's time to find something warm to wear which is hard because you packed away all your winter clothes because it's so called summer and all you have is summer clothes in your wardrobes, never mind the sun will come back I'm sure of it so for the time being just put up with the cold and rain and wait with anticipation for the sun to return. Well that's all the depressing news from my wet blog hopefully tomorrow will be better. Thanks for reading and if you sort of enjoyed reading it then like, follow and share. Thank you.
The remains of the unit that were in this position left and we followed them, we went around the outskirts of the village and back into the center. The rest of PIV or what was left of it were already there, we found out that Colin just after he had reached the main hq in the center of the village. We had to go back to the end of the street to see what was happening but as soon as we arrived we came under heavy fire as the enemy had pinpointed this house as our new front line, there was no way that we could reach Eric without getting everyone who attempted a rescue killed and because of the amount of enemy fire we had to fall back, on the way Alan started going berserk saying that he had to go back to fight, he was shooting everywhere so George calmed him down and asked him to take care of the elderly and that seemed to work. By now the village command had decided it was time to leave but first we had to wait for the mortar unit to reach safety. We could not get anywhere near under cons...
