That time

Well it's that time of the month when the everyone is supposed to be home which is great but as I've mentioned before loud. This weekend will be a little bit different, my son will be going to a friend's for his friends birthday so he won't be here today, our youngest daughters fiance is playing in a football tournament so they won't be here, so it seems like there will be peace and quiet at least for most of the day until my wife and eldest daughter come home. So it's just me and the dogs for the morning at least, of course I won't be sitting on my bum as I have to cook dinner for when they come home but there's no mad rush to get it done thankfully. Yesterday it was quiet all day as everyone was in work and then my wife and eldest daughter had to go to the local town to continue working so I was on my lonesome self for almost all day and yes I didn't do much except cook something for me to eat, when I spoke to my youngest daughter on the mobile and told her that I had baked beans and chips for dinner she was surprised but for me that was a good meal, what's wrong with a chip butty and baked beans well as far as I'm concerned nothing but she found it an odd combination but I enjoyed it and that's all that matters. The temperature yesterday was in the low 30's so most of the time I spent indoors because as soon as you opened the door the heat hit you like a slap across the face, even the dogs didn't want to sunbathe so stay indoors shutters closed as well as the front door and it remained cool inside,looking outside now it seems as if it's going to be another hot day. It's great if you're on the coast as you have a sea breeze which makes the heat bearable and you always have the sea to cool down and here in Croatia you don't have to worry about the water being dirty because it's crystal clear and pleasantly warm, I suppose that's why so many tourists come here for their holidays, good food, clear water and most of all nice people. Well that's all for now as I decided not to write about anything depressing as I sometimes do so if you enjoyed reading today's blog which was like a part of my diary then like, follow and share. Well at long last it seems that there may be a break in our heatwave, last night after the temperature hitting a huge 40 degrees it started to thunder and lightning but did the heavens open for rain to fall, no only a few spots, I could probably drink more water than fell from the sky, at least it's a little cooler 19 and set to rise to a reasonable 35 degrees which is a bit more bearable. It's Sunday the end of the weekend and again it seems that my wife and I will be on our own, my youngest daughter and her fiance are going here and there to visit his family and I'm not sure if my eldest daughter will be here so it's going to be a weird Sunday but peaceful. Terrible

Isn't it just terrible to see once again ordinary people being targeted by bombs and mortars and being once again driven from their homes. The orders obviously coming from the top which of course means non other than the war monger himself, Putin and the Ukrainians can't do a thing to stop it except helping with the evacuation of the elderly and sick from the border towns with Russia. It is a familiar site for me after witnessing it myself here in Croatia in 1991, so I know how those people feel being driven from their homes and normal lives not knowing wheater they will return or not by a superior force intent on carrying out their orders by a lunatic dictator. Here in Croatia after so many years people are back in their homes, rebuilt and the villages, towns and cities are back to normal, Croatia has come back from the brink of destruction to become a stronger and better country, all because of the heart and will of the people.
