It's here

It's here, what's here well the weekend of course, when most of the family are home. The tempatures stil high, at the moment 25 and set to rise again to 39 degrees and with a full house it'll be absolutely boiling inside and now because it's so hot outside I've got nowhere to go, what a shame. Every time the whole family is here I complain but don't get me wrong I'm happy their all here apart from my son who's still in Germany working and we won't see him for a couple of weeks, work is work, at least it's not as hot there. The burst water pipe has been replaced and the hole filled in, just the concrete topping and it will be done. My wife and eldest daughter will be working as usual so at least the house won't be as crowded until they come home, it's just a case of shutting all the shutters, windows and doors then turn the ventilator on and hope it will stay a little bit cooler, fat chance. It's funny that you pay every month your premium for house insurance but when it comes to needing help because of some damage you never get an immediate payout, typical of big companies want to take your money but paying you something back is a different kettle of fish, now we have to just wait until we can reptile the hallway. The situation in Ukraine is still going on with Ukraine blowing up bridges and taking more russian land, great, the puppet master is furious with any luck he'll have a heart attack and then maybe the war will come to an end, fat chance, there's probably another dictator waiting to take his place. The election campaign is still going on in America who will win nobody knows, Putins puppet Trump or will they have a woman president only time will tell and the thoughts of the people will be heard,I myself hope for a woman president who will put a different swing on American politics which I think will be a great thing to happen. Tension is still high all over the middle east and also between China and Taiwan, when will the politicians of this world ever learn, probably never. Well that's all for now I hope you enjoyed todays blog and if so then like, follow and share. Thank you.

Ninth installment

The remains of the unit that were in this position left and we followed them, we went around the outskirts of the village and back into the center. The rest of PIV or what was left of it were already there, we found out that Colin just after he had reached the main hq in the center of the village. We had to go back to the end of the street to see what was happening but as soon as we arrived we came under heavy fire as the enemy had pinpointed this house as our new front line, there was no way that we could reach Eric without getting everyone who attempted a rescue killed and because of the amount of enemy fire we had to fall back, on the way Alan started going berserk saying that he had to go back to fight, he was shooting everywhere so George calmed him down and asked him to take care of the elderly and that seemed to work. By now the village command had decided it was time to leave but first we had to wait for the mortar unit to reach safety. We could not get anywhere near under cons...

Third installment

Day in, day out, it was the same routine, sleep, guard, fire off a few rounds in the general direction of the enemy, there was not much else to do, the main thing was to stay alive by keeping inside every time mortars or artillery came flying in to the village. The only time that there was a lot of activitie was when we were buzzed by planes, everybody would rush outside, Ernie would jump on the transporter and fire the machine gun, I used to run to the machine gun that was mounted on a tripod at the end of the street and also fire at the plane, everybody else would be outside firing their ak47s, there was not much chance of hitting it or bringing it down but it took only one lucky shot and that would give everyone hope. After the plane had gone out of sight that the transporter was Ernies because he had shot at the enemy leaving the damaged transporter with a sniper rifle, so Geordi the commander in charge of the defense of Osijek had given it to Ernie, I also found out that he worked...

First installment

As I walked towards one of the men whose hair was as short as mine he looked like any British soldier who wore the same uniform as I had in my bergan, "anyone here speak English" I asked, "sure mate, what do you want?" was the reply, I almost had a heart attack, the first person I spoke to was from Liverpool, this was an unexpected coincidence and perhaps now I was getting somewhere.  "where are you from and what do you want" he asked, "Wales and I want to join the Croatian army" I replied he turned around to someone, I didn't catch his name but then he turned back to me,  "the person who is in charge is not here but will be back at about one in the afternoon" he told me, "thanks, I'll come back" and walked off, What was I going to do now I didn't know so I left and headed left not going anywhere special just walking and looking around, behaving as any tourist would there were loads of palm trees so it must be a wa...
